For 5,100 Muskego-Norway School District students, Sept. 1 marked not just the start of school, but the return of a daily and weekly routine that will last until June. Eight buses transported more than 450 sudents to Tess Corners Elementary School, where they were greeted by a parking lot full of parents watching their young ones return to school.
"Just because it's old does not mean it is valuable," appraiser Barbara Esch advised more than 20 people who brought in items for appraisal during Heirloom Fest hosted by the Friendsof the Muskego Library on Aug. 21.
Muskego presented its National Night Out at Veterans Memorial Park on Thursday, part of a nationwide anti-crime and personal safety effort.
The Muskego Food Pantry is experiencing chronic shortages of major items for food bags for more than 35 families each week. While noodles, simple soups and canned vegetables are in supply, it's the "meal in a can," meat entrees that are in short supply.
Kids got a chance to learn about bicycle and pedestrian safety during the Muskego Recreation Department's Safety City at Muskego Elementary School on July 21.
Muskego awoke to the sound of chainsaws, generators and leaf blowers as people began cleaning up from the June 21 storm that damaged the roofs of Tess Cornner Fire Station 3, the Muskego Post Office building, and a unit in the Freedom Square Condominiums, all along Janesville Road in the heart of Muskego.
