Johnson-Helminger

Carrie Johnson and Michael Helminger of Seattle, Wash., were married Aug. 20, 2011, at Lake Crescent in Olympia National Park in Seattle.

Parents of the bride are Bruce and Julie Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo. The groom's parents are Tom and Judy Helminger, formerly of Wind Lake.

The 4 p.m. ceremony was followed by a reception at Olympia Park Institute.

The bride wore a taffeta dress with a lace-and-pearl bodice. She carried white mums accented by yellow, pink and burgundy daisies.

Heidi Mahi of Seattle, college friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erika Syre of Seattle, Heather Bradley of Oxford, N.Y., and Erin Renfroe of San Francisco.

Mike Suomi of Greenville, college friend of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Brandan Burger of Wausau, Ben Duveneck of Menomonee Falls and Matt Oliver of Wind Lake.

The bride earned her bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College in New York. She is a physical therapist with Stretch PT.

The groom, a graduate of Muskego High School, earned his bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering and project management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a professional engineer and construction project manager with Civil Tech Engineering.

Both enjoy mountain climbing, hiking, biking, skiing and rowing/canoeing.

The couple planned a six-week missionary trip to South America as their honeymoon.
