Firsthand knowledge of a giving community

Public Forum:

When asked about the quality of living in Muskego, I often state, "Muskego is small enough that you can know everyone, but big enough that you don't have too!" Our community embodies the best of small town caring along with large suburban anonymity as desired.

I have witnessed this small town caring first hand when I was diagnosed with a form of stage 3 cancer this past September. My family and I have been overwhelmed with an outreach of support, both moral and physical, from a staggering number of people in the community that we call "home."

We have been amazed and humbled by the sincere concern and acts of kindness we have been extended by many of you. Not a day has gone by that we have not received a card, phone call, e-mail or offer of help. The outreach has literally numbered in the hundreds. I am in awe of how caring this community is and I owe it, all of you, a debt of thanks.

I have successfully finished my first round of treatments, with my next and final treatment starting the beginning of the New Year. My prognosis is very good and I will have a positive outcome. Muskego, you have played no small part in my current and future success on my road to recovery. Thank you!
