The red-hot Vikings got off to a fast start in the Woodland Conference with a 2-0 victory over St. Thomas More on Aug. 30 and a 10-1 blowout of Cudahy/St. Francis on Sept. 1, both at home.
Against St. Thomas More, West went ahead on Brock Shilling's goal assisted by Kevin Marx in the 12th minute.
"We have the ability to control most of the games we play, and (this game) was no different," West coach Ryan Otten said. "We just have had a hard time linking passes together in the attacking third to finish off with goals. After halftime, we played a lot better as sharp passing and crisp combination play occurred."
In the 60th minute, Matt Rink knocked in a header off Marx's corner kick to finish off the West victory.
Against Cudahy/St. Francis, Bryan Franzen scored two goals in the first half and one intermission and Charlie Duff and Josh Lindner scored two goals each.
Dino Poulos scored one goal and tallied three assists. Hlu Vang registered four assists as West improved to 6-0 overall, 2-0 conference.
The Vikings, who entered this week 6-0 overall, are ranked fifth in Division 2 by the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association.

Facing some tough competition from much larger schools at the Hale Invite on Friday, the Vikings improved their times from the season opener but were overmatched in the team standings.
Five Viking boys finished under 19 minutes, led by Chase Robles' 18:10.
For the girls team, who were without Taylor Christiansen and Anne Kaczynski due to injuries, Brittany Kozlowski was the pacesetter with a 13th-place time of 16:20, 38 seconds faster than the previous week.
The boys finished 11th of 15 teams; the girls were 12th of 13.

The Warriors were on opposite ends of Southeast Conference dual-meet shutouts and suffered their first loss of the season.
After beating Racine Park, 7-0, at home on Aug. 31, the Muskego lost to Kenosha Tremper, 7-0, on the road two days later to fall to 2-1 in the SEC.
"This was an up and down week for us," Muskego coach Sue Vogel said. "We had a great first half of the season going undefeated in duals. Tremper is always a reality check for us on how good some teams are and what we have to strive for to meet that level."
In the win, the Warriors won all seven flights in straight sets with victories from Amy Upthagrove, Kristen Furry, Ana Spone and Nadia Tabbal in singles matches, as well as from the doubles teams of Michelle Roubik and Stephanie King, Chelsea Kreutzer and Kate Matusinec, and Karly Larsen and Emily Kleist.
The Warriors did not win a set against Tremper.

Maruko was also a victor as part of the Lions' first doubles team with Becky Dobrzynski in Eisenhower's 7-0 win over Whitnall two days earlier, also at the Princeton Club.
Lauren Slonac won at first singles for the Lions over Sarah Houle.

First singles player Markelle Grabo was also among the winners for the Vikings, who lost their league opener, 7-0, at Shorewood two days earlier.

The Warriors, who did not make the gold-medal round of their own invite Saturday, split a pair of dual matches earlier that week.
In a 25-11, 25-12, 25-16 win over visiting Franklin in the Southeast Conference opener for both teams Sept. 2, Hannah Blanchard tallied eight kills and Jessica Stanton three aces for the Warriors.
Two days earlier, the Warriors lost a grueling nonconference affair to visiting Watertown, 11-25, 25-23, 25-17, 35-33.

Eisenhower soccer
The Lions opened the Woodland Conference season with a pair of losses, including a 3-0 defeat at Shorewood on Aug. 30.
"Their speed up front was hard for us to handle," Eisenhower coach Gary Troy said. "They made us pay for minor mistakes."
In a heartbreaker two days later, Greendale's Mitchell Plazek scored the game-winning goal in the 98th minute in the second overtime to give the visitors a 3-2 victory.
Plazek also tied the score in the 62nd minute after Eisenhower's Evan Krause (ninth minute) and Jake Antoniewicz (49th) scored to give the Lions a 2-1 advantage.
The Lions also went 2-1 at their own Ike Invite Friday and Saturday, with 2-0 victories over West Allis Hale and Waukesha South and a 1-0 loss to Milwaukee Tech. Eisenhower began this week 3-5-2 overall.

With junior Therese Thompson leading the way, the Eisenhower girls placed 11th of 15 teams at the West Allis Central Bulldog Invitational at McCarty Park on Saturday.
Thompson registered a time of 16:19, good for 14th place.
Eisenhower's Sara Potts, Carley Ney, Holly Plazak and Hanna Kinzer all ran personal-bests and cracked the school's top-40 all-time times.
The Eisenhower boys were 13th of 14 teams at the same meet as Kevin Plazak's 18:47 was good for 45th.
"After having a very difficult week of practice, this was a great meet for the entire team," first-year Eisenhower coach Billy Simon said. "Every single runner improved on their time from last week and 10 kids ran personal records. We have a hard-working, young team that has the ability to do some good things this season."
